Im"becile (), a.[L. imbecillis, and imbecillus; of unknown origin: cf. F. imbcile.] Destitute of strength, whether of body or mind; feeble; impotent; esp., mentally wea; feeble-minded; as, hospitals for the imbecile and insane. Syn. -- Weak; feeble; feeble-minded; idiotic.
