Ple°siosau"rus (), n.; pl. Plesiosauri (). [NL., fr. Gr near + a lizard.] (Paleon.) A genus of large extinct marine reptiles, having a very long neck, a small head, and paddles for swimming. It lived in the Mesozoic age.
