Predes"tinate (), v. t.[imp. & p. p.Predestinated (); p. pr. & vb. n.Predestinating.] [Cf. Predestine.] To predetermine or foreordain; to appoint or ordain beforehand by an unchangeable purpose or decree; to prelect. Whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son. Rom. viii. 29. Syn. -- To predetermine; foreordain; preordain; decree; predestine; foredoom.
