(rsd"), v. i.[imp. & p. p.Receded; p. pr. & vb. n.Receding.] [L. recedere, recessum; pref. re- re- + cedere to go, to go along: cf. F. recder. See Cede.]
1. To move back; to retreat; to withdraw.
