Sarcenet, Sarrasin, Sirocco.] Anciently, an Arab; later, a Mussulman; in the Middle Ages, the common term among Christians in Europe for a Mohammedan hostile to the crusaders. Saracens' consound (Bot.), a kind of ragwort (Senecio Saracenicus), anciently used to heal wounds.
