3α-Androstanediol (5α-androstane-3α,17β-diol; sometimes abbreviated as 3α-diol) is an endogenous inhibitory androstane neurosteroid and weak androgen, and a major metabolite of dihydrotestosterone (DHT). As a neurosteroid, it is a potent positive allosteric modulator of the GABAA receptor, and is known to have rewarding, anxiolytic, prosexual, and anticonvulsant effects. As androgens such as testosterone and DHT are known to have many of the same effects and are metabolized into 3α-androstanediol, it is thought that this compound may in part be responsible for said effects via its neurosteroid action.〔〔〔〔 Relative to its 3β-isomer, 3β-androstanediol, which is a potent estrogen, 3α-androstanediol has substantially lower affinity for the estrogen receptors. ==See also== * Androsterone * Androstenol * Etiocholanolone * Androstanediol glucuronide * Membrane androgen receptor 抄文引用元・出典: フリー百科事典『 ウィキペディア(Wikipedia)』 ■ウィキペディアで「3α-Androstanediol」の詳細全文を読む スポンサード リンク
