The band ''"5.59"'' was formed in October 2011 by then 20-year-old singer-songwriter (Elchin Elshad ). The band's name was based on the idea of "one minute to morning", the start of a new day. He will be joined in the coming years by (Jamal Jabrailov ) - lead guitar on lead guitar,(Seymur Aliyev ) - drums, percussion on drums, and (Tural Tahir )– bass, backing vocals on bass guitar. As musician who had studied traditional music on a variety of instruments, they were drawn to the intuitive expressive energy of rock music. The childhood study and structured discipline of traditional and classical music found liberation in rock music as an explosion of creativity demanding to be heard. They came to 5:59 from other bands and musical backgrounds with new energy and determination to create a unique sound in rock music in today's Azerbaijan." == Activities == To date, the band has released their first album - (Hamisi Bizdendir ) (“All of us"). 5.59, along with singer (Aysel Guluzadeh ), recorded the soundtrack for the Azerbaijani film ("Ultionis" ), directed by Nijat Gafuroglu. The band has participated twice at the music festival South by SouthWest (SXSW), which takes place in Austin, TX US. 5.59 performed alongside the American rock band Filligar on Filligar’s tour through Azerbaijan. 5.59 performed as the house band for an Azerbaijani late night TV show, which was featured on the local Azerbaijani broadcast station ANS TV.
