Acquia is a software-as-a-service company co-founded by Dries Buytaert and Jay Batson to provide enterprise products, services, and technical support for open-source web content management platform Drupal. It is financed by venture capital, receiving $118.5 million in six rounds. == Growth == In 2013, Acquia was named the Fastest Growing Private Technology Company in North America by Deloitte〔 〕 and remained in the Deloitte's Fastest 500 the next year. In a May 2013 press release, the company stated that it has over 3,800 enterprise customers; that its hosting services handle over 2.5 billion HTTP requests per month; and that year over year revenue grew 108 percent between 2012 and 2013. On August 21, 2012, Acquia was named #8 on the Inc. The cash influx will be used to build out sales and marketing, including adding more channel partners. In August 2014, Amazon made an undisclosed investment in Acquia, which the company plans to use to continue to build its platform for both commerce and content.
