Adjamé

Adjamé is a district and a commune of northern Abidjan in Côte d'Ivoire, forming a part of the metropolitan area of Abidjan.
The name ''Adjamé'' means "a junction" or "the centre" in the local Tchaman language. The Tchaman people of ''Adjamé'' are called ''Agbou Djemian'' and come under Chief ''Nanguy Abrogoua'' The district is located to the north of the Plateau district of Abidjan. It has the most important bus station in the country from where buses serve all of Côte d'Ivoire as well as neighbouring countries. Basile Boli, the French footballer (45 caps, 1 goal) was born in Adjamé on 2 January 1967.
==Sport==
The district has a football club: the Stella Club of Adjamé which plays in the MTN Ligue 1 on the grounds of the Municipal Stadium.
As in most parts of Côte d'Ivoire, the club is organised in an informal way with football teams of 7 players which is very popular in Côte d'Ivoire. The players are called ''Maracanas''.
