AdultVest

AdultVest, Inc. is an investment management company based in Beverly Hills, California. It was founded in 2005 by former hedge fund specialist Francis Koenig as an institutional investment company focusing exclusively on sex industry related investments. The firm is a former winner of the Hedge Fund Launch of the Year Award.
Only accredited investors may invest in the fund; it caters to investors willing to invest more than one million dollars.〔 In January 2009, The Atlantic reported Koenig stating that the company had made a 50% return.〔 The Business Insider stated that they were "deeply skeptical"; about Koenig's claim of a 50% return because when they asked him about how the company made the money, Koenig referred to the basis of "valuing assets like iPhone porn startups and unsold domain names." 〔
*〕 Koenig states that the claim of 50% returns was a misquote.〔
*〕
According to private equity source, FINAlternatives, and the SEC's exoneration letter referenced in the article, Koenig was misquoted. The actual 50% claim was, instead, a 50% increase in the per unit buy in price based on the fund's progress.〔

AdultVest matches buyers with sellers of strip clubs and other businesses, offers a forum for ``talent'' to be bought and sold in the adult industry, and seeks out investors for the hedge fund. In an interview, Koenig stated that the hedge funds are the ``primary focus'' of AdultVest's strategic advantage.〔

==Back To The Present==

Years later, the porn industry had comparably〔
*〕 grown, largely due to advancements in technology, new streams of marketing, and more sexual openness of society that have brought about more ways for consumers to utilize porn.〔

This growth of the porn industry has naturally improved AdultVest's position.

While different countries observe variable moral standards,〔
*〕 AdultVest is from the United States. Despite the United States being less sexually open than many countries,〔
*〕 Koenig says he thinks that investors ``have gotten over the moral issues'' related to adult investing. Koenigs second fund, the Priapus Investment Fund, has lured enough smaller investors expending a $100,000 minimum that Priapus was able to purchase the domain name iPorn.com, an AdultVest company. Priapus also owns shares of strip-club operator VCG Holding Corp. The New York State Common Retirement Fund, the California Public Employees Retirement System (Calpers), and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Public Schools all disclosed in SEC filings that they owned VCG shares. While the pornography industry continues to enlarge, AdultVest has received a positive impact. 〔
*〕
At the end of the day, it is consumers that dictate how successful a company is. Adultvest has seemed to continue to cash in on the economy's sexual liberations.〔
