E., "On the Homeric use of the word " (p. 78 )〕 "famed for his spear",〔Homer, ''Iliad'' (11.368 )〕 fighting on the side of Troy in the Trojan War, killed by Diomedes.〔Homer, ''Iliad'' (11.336–342 )〕 He was the son of Paeon and brother of Laophoon.〔Quintus Smyrnaeus, ''Posthomerica'' (p. 112, 6.549–555 ); Parada, "Paeon 1." p. 135; Connor, "Paeon" p. 1096.〕 His death comes about as the result of a lapse in judgement.
