Aglish

Aglish () is a village in west County Waterford, Ireland.
The village has traditionally had a population of less than 300, but Ireland's recent building boom has seen the population almost double since the turn of the millennium. Aglish lies west of Dungarvan and north of Youghal, and is within the parish of Aglish, Ballinameela and Mount Stuart. Running through the village is the Geosh river, a tributary of the River Blackwater.
The village is home to a 19th-century Catholic church, from which it gets its name - ''Eaglais'' being the Irish-language word for "church" - with a former ruined church cited by the Dungarvan Leader newspaper to have been "pre-invasion". Local amenities include a national school, village hall, post office, petrol station, two sports pitches, and two pubs.
==Sport==
Sporting success has come through the Geraldines hurling and football teams, while local showjumper Tholm Keane has enjoyed success on the domestic Irish scene.
Aglish also won three Waterford senior football titles in 1915, 1922 and 1923.
Paddy O'Brien is a nationally renowned singer from the area, who won Irish country music's Gold Star award in 1988.
An annual vintage rally gained the village extra attention during its run from 1980 to 1996, and was revived in 2008.
