''Ajit'' , variously spelled Ajith, Agith, Ajay, Aje or Ajeet ((サンスクリット:अजित)) is a common male name derived from Sanskrit. The name is used in various forms in India nationwide and Nepal, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. The name means ''invincible'' or, literally, ''he who has not been conquered'', from the Sanskrit ''a'' (not) and ''jita'' (conquered). In Hindu mythology, it was a name for both Shiva and Vishnu.
