Akkaraipattu (Tamil: ''அக்கரைப்பற்று'', Sinhala: ''අක්කරපත්තුව'') is a town in the Ampara District of Sri Lanka. It is along the eastern coast of the island. Akkaraipattu consists of over 35,000 people who settled in this area many centuries ago. Education and religion are considered as important factors among the local people. Educating the children is considered as the primary job every parent.
