Al-Hawajir
The Hawajir are an influential family in Kuwaiti politics, with 4,734 voters in the fifty district. However, only one of the fifty elected parliamentarians in the Kuwait National Assembly belongs to the Hawajir tribe: Ali Al-Hajri.〔Arab Times Parliament Profile ()〕 Outside of Kuwait the family is also called Bani Hajer (Family surnames: Al-Hajri, Hajeri, Hajr, Hajar, Hajir, Haji, Heji) and is a large tribe in Iraq, eastern Saudi Arabia and the Gulf States, mostly residing in Qatar and Bahrain.
