It is believed that the Zeitawi tribe are a direct descendants of Muhammad. Al Zeitawi tribe consists of 8 smaller branches Al Zaghab, Al Hamad, Al Sharei, Al Khalil, Al Sheikh Saleh, Abdul Jaleel, Al Eisa and Al Sheikh Ahmed. In total the Zeitawi Tribe form a population of around 2500.
