Aliparamba
Aliparamba is a village in Malappuram district in the state of Kerala,It is on the banks of the Thootha Puza (formerly known as Palayar.) The name is derived from Ala Paramba because the place was once famous for Allas (workplace of iron smiths known in Malayalaym language as Karuvans, a sub - caste of blacksmiths among Hindus. People used to collect iron ore from Arakkuparambba, a place nearby and make iron after smelting it at Alla Paramba. Chera Kings once ruled here. Later Aliparamba came under the control of Nedunganad Rajas, a samantha principality under Chera Kings.Nedungadi families known as Pallaserri Moothamans, and Marampura Ammans controlled the place. Soon, Zamoothiri of Calicut invaded Aliparamba and brought it under his control. Half of the captured area was then given to his son Kuthiravattath Tampan. The descendants of the Zamoothiri and Tampans still retain control over many temples here and Aliparamba is well known for famous temples. This was once a fertile land well known for its rice cultivation. Aliparamba Sivarama Poduval, famous Chenda and Sopanam player belongs to aliparmaba. Well known ancient Ayurveda practising families have their root at Aliparamba. Ayurvedic Vaidaians families like, Acheeri thodiyil, Nechiyil, Mel parambil, etc. are still continuing their profession successfully. This place has given birth to famous Nagaswara exponents also. Aristocratic Nair families also trace their ancestry to Aliparmaba. Well known Nair family names like,,mundankodi etc...Kerala's Second Biggest Thali Temple is here... ; aliparamba is his village India. ==Demographics== India census, Aliparamba had a population of 22802 with 11027 males and 11775 females.〔
