AmeriHost Inn
AmeriHost Inn was a small chain of hotels located in the United States and Canada. The chain consisted of two-or-three story interior corridor buildings constructed based on the company's prototype designs. This usually meant a long, 2- or 3-story building with a gabled or sloped lobby and public area at one end. All properties featured indoor pools and consistent amenities. This consistency was the chain's main selling point. Founded in 1989 by (now) Arlington Hospitality, the franchise rights were sold to Cendant Corporation at the end of the 1990s. Arlington continued to build and develop AmeriHost Inns using the prototype they originally created for the chain during this time. However, Cendant handed out one or two AmeriHost franchises to existing properties that do not conform to the original prototype standards during the start of the millennium. In 2006, Cendant (now Wyndham Worldwide) announced that all Amerihost Inns would be rebranded as Baymont Inns.〔(Cendant Hotel Group to Merge the AmeriHost Inn Franchise System into the Baymont Inn & Suites Brand; To Expedite the Rebranding Cendant Offering AmeriHost Inn Franchisees Free Leases for New Exterior Signage / April 2006 )〕 That merger has taken place, and the Amerihost Inn name has been dropped by the company, but kept the rights to the name. == References ==
