Ampro'' ''Industries, Incorporated is a manufacturer of personal care and hair styling products. It is located in Memphis, Tennessee. Ampro's brands include Ampro Pro Styl, Clear Ice, Neutra Foam, Shine 'n Jam, and VIVAS. Today, Ampro Industries manufacturing facility is located a few miles from the original shop.〔("AMPRO: About Us" )〕 ==History== Ampro was founded in 1947 by Irvin Lansky. Lansky owned a dry goods store on Beale Street in Memphis, Tennessee. From his store, Lansky began to sell hair care products. Perceiving potential in the products, Lansky formed Vogue Distributing Company, a beauty supply wholesaler. Lansky then expanded the enterprise with a Memphis retail location called Vogue Beauty and Barber Mart, where he began manufacturing his own ethnic hair care products. He developed a line of products under the name called "Ampro," short for American Products. Lansky died in April 2001. Lansky's daughter, Cheri Rudner, as the Chairman of the Board. Her husband Henry Rudner is the company's Chief Executive Officer. Jack Sammons serves as the company's President.〔
