Anuppan
Anuppan is a community of Kannada, Tamil -speaking Hindu farmers who reside in the southern districts of the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. == Etymology and Origin ==
The 1891 Madras Census report describes Anuppans as "a small caste of Canarese farmers chiefly found in the districts of Madura, Tinnevely and Coimbatore. Their original home appears to Mysore or South Canara, probably the former." Local traditions at the Kambam region of Madura where Anuppans predominate indicate that they were prevalent in extensive numbers in the region during ancient times. However, there was a feud with the Kappiliyans and in this quarrel, Ramachcha Kavundan, the chief of the Kappiliyans was killed. On his deatrh bed, Ramachcha Kavundan supposedly cursed the Anuppans that they would never prosper in life. அனுப்பகவுண்டர்
