''Aphis'' is a genus of insects in the family Aphididae containing about 400 species of aphids.〔(Aphid Research ), Institute of Natural Resource Sustainability, University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign〕 It includes many notorious agricultural pests, such as the soybean aphid ''A. glycines''. Many species of ''Aphis'', such as ''A. coreopsidis'', are myrmecophiles, forming close associations with ants.〔Altfeld, L. and P. Stiling. ( 2006).
