Appignano is a ''comune'' (municipality) in the Province of Macerata in the Italian region Marche, located about southwest of Ancona and about northwest of Macerata. As of 28 February 2009, it had a population of 4,301 and an area of .〔All demographics and other statistics: Italian statistical institute Istat.〕 The municipality of Appignano contains the ''frazione'' (subdivision) Forano.
