Named by Whiteaves in 1889, ''Arniotites'' is evolute. Inner whorls are smooth, middle and outer whorls have blunt primary ribs that end abruptly at the ventral shoulder or at ventro-lateral tubercles. The venter (outer rim) is keeled.
