Athimarapatti is a panchayat town in Thoothukudi district in the state of Tamil Nadu, India. ==Demographics== India census, Athimarapatti had a population of 17,527. There are temple in the heart of the village, santhanamari amman temple,Sree pathrakali Amman Temple,Sree Durgai Amman temple was loccated at middle of the village., Sree Veera madasaamy temple and muniasamy temple and karuppasamy temple'. The temple are located in middle of the village. People in this village celebrate the function (Kovil kodai) in the temple. In the month of August (aavani) and April (chithirai). The streets of this village will be decorated with colourful lights and temporary shops during the festival. "As far as Athimarapatti is concerned, banana plantation is the main occupation." says Mr.Vetrivel Shanmugavel, head of farmer's association, Athimarapatti. This village has a history, that trace backs to generations. There was a placed called pallaya veetadi in this village where people lived when this village was founded. They had a leader for them who commanded the group and they worked according to his orders. This leader had a horse and the horse died seven days after the leader died. The graveyard of that horse can be still found but in a damaged condition. The leader's heir ruled the village for many 100 years under the name of Mirasudhar. The last known Mirasudhar was Mr. Ramasamy Nadar, who is known to be the richest landlord of the village who had more lands than anyone in that area. He was followed by Mr. Jeya Veera Pandian, his son, who was made the President of that village.
