BBGM is an international boutique architecture and interior design firm of approximately 50 architects and interior designers that specializes in the design of hotels, resorts, office buildings, government facilities, high-rise residential, retail, mixed-use complexes, master plans for development, and renovation/restoration projects. It has provided architectural and interior design services in China , the United Arab Emirates, the Caribbean, Egypt, India, Mexico, Singapore, Russia, Australia, South America, Canada, and the United States.〔 〕 ==History== Brennan Beer Gorman/Architects was founded in 1984 in New York City by the principal partners of Welton Becket Associates as an architectural firm. BBG specialized in the design of office buildings, hotels, mixed-use projects, renovation projects, and master planning. In 1987, Brennan Beer Gorman Monk/Interiors was established to provide corporate office interior and hospitality design services. BBG-BBGM established a full service office in Washington, D.C. offering both architecture and interior design as one entity in 1989. In the 1990s the firm began to focus heavily on hospitality design. Significant projects included renovations to the St. Regis Hotel, Sheraton Center and Sheraton City Square in New York City. Prominent hotel projects in the Washington D.C. area included the Hamilton Crowne Plaza, the Omni Shoreham Hotel, the Hay-Adams Hotel, and the Sofitel Washington D.C. Lafayette Square renovations.〔 Capitalizing on the growing reputation as luxury hotel designers, the firm expanded into work in Southeast Asia, and designed such notable projects as The Peninsula Hong Kong. By 2004, BBG-BBGM had designed approximately three dozen hotels in the Washington, D.C. area, making it "arguably the most prolific hospitality design firm in the city". The company's name was simplified to BBGM in 2013.
