Tryambak Bapuji Thombre (1890–1918) was an Indian Marathi poet, whose pen name was ''Balkavi'', also spelled as ''Baalkavi'' or ''Baal-kavi''. Poems of Thombre deal with his love of nature and are marked by exuberant language. He spent some period of his childhood life with renowned writer and poet Narayan Tilak (Narayan Vaman Tilak (6 December 1861 – 1919) was a Marathi poet from the Konkan region of then Bombay Presidency in British India, and a famous convert to Christianity. ) And Laxmibai Tilak. Narayan Tilak was the person who identified the talent within Baalkavi and brought him to his home. Laxmibai Tilak had very motherly relation with Baalkavi.
