Bansdroni
Bansdroni ((ベンガル語:বাঁশদ্রোণী)) is a locality in South Kolkata. It is connected to the city with the Netaji Subash Chandra Bose Road linking Garia in the south-east and Tollygunge in the south-west. The Kolkata Metro touches Bansdroni at the Masterda Surya Sen Metro Station.
Bansdroni used to be a port during the 17th century when the Adi Ganga was the main flow of the Ganges into the sea Bay of Bengal. Now it houses some important retail stores like Reliance Digital, LG Shoppe and others. This area holds the Bansdroni Police Station & Netaji Nagar Police Station. There is also a church named Queen of Peace Church. English Medium Schools; Maharishi Vidya Mandir, Holy Home, Adarsh English High School, B.D. Memorial (Primary), St.Mary's Church School and De Paul, are located here (the last two are catholic). It mainly is a residential area, with nearly every building a residential one. The Usha Fan Factory is located here.Vidyasagar Park (1 to 12)Lane.Vidyasagar Park 7th Lane is an important locality at Bansdroni area.There is also twenty ADIWASI(SANTAL FEMILY)residential houses.KISKU HOUSE is the oldest.
