The Manjeera River flows in 3 km west of Banswada. == History == The name is derived from the ancient name, Mahisawada ("the ancient Indian epic, The Mahabarata. Part of the story takes place in Mahishapuram"). it is also known that the name Banswada was derived from word BASAVANAMU which means MOGILOPULA Thota( Pandanus plantation)by cutting pandanus plantation a village was built due to which the village was named as basawada i.e. Banswada.
