Bhadeshwar is one of the most prominent villages located at Golapganj Upazila in the Sylhet District, Sylhet Division, Bangladesh. Bhadeshwar has a good reputation for being the birthplace of many successful individuals. The union council has 4 village division named as East Bhadeshor (PubBagh), South Bhadeshor (DhaskinBagh), West Bhadeshor (PoschimBagh)and Central Bhadeshor (MaijBagh).
Bhadeshwar has great significant history with many tribal people coming from Pakistan and Afghanistan and India with businesses such as selling items or trading businesses with many well know civilians.
Bhadeshwar also has a history of natural beauty following the hilly area which helps the area to grow pineapple.
BHADESHWAR has a very deep history with Women's rights education. Starting from the year 1938.
Salima khanom Girls High school is the first high school built by Hazi Mr. Gous Ahmed(1915-1989) in 1938(officially 1940). He built the school After his mother's name as she was the most dearest to him Mr. Gous had many business affiliations with countries like USA,U.K,Canada in terms of chemical industry. He always thought that the importance of girls education was a neccesity. As a result it became a war between the chowdhury's and the Ahmed Talukdars,as the chowdhury's always had a problem with changes in society. Mr. Bashhar Ali chowdhury was the first person to neglect the idea of girls getting education in Bhadeshwar. Many fights broke out throughout the years after the school was established being physical and political.The fight for education rights finally came to an end after the bhadeshwar Mohila college was built in 1989. Hazi Gous Ahmed past away prior deadline of finishing the Mohila college. He left behind 5 sons and 4 daughters all currently residing In the United States. It was reported that he has 18 grandchildren in total. His legacy lives on forever. His private family burial grounds can be found in poshchimbag bhadeshwar right next to the Ahmed Cottage.
