Bhandigadi
Bhandigadi is a small village in Koppa taluk, Chikkamagaluru district of Karnataka, India. Located on the bank of Tunga River, the village is famous for the matha- Shakatapura samsthanam. There are many villages surrounding the place. A few of them being: Sankainakodige, Saraluthota, Sakrebailu, Malligemane, Haralugodige, kaginolli, Ambalike, guddekoppa. This is a typical malnad region. The main occupation of the people in this region is agriculture. The are large arecanut farms around the place along with paddy fields, Banana farm, cardamom, Pepper, rubber, venilla, coconut farms. The families with more agricultural land are the prominent ones & they are the ones who enjoy both economical & political power. Vokkaliga community has the highest population followed by Brahmins & lingayath Community. Basic amenities are good. There are 2 government schools in the town that provide education for hundreds of students every year.MR. LATE. Shankarappa Gowda H.N one who contributed a lot for the development of the education. Puttaiah Gowda (Haralugodige), Krishnaiah Naik, Gopal Naik are few notable among the many who had contributed a lot for the development of irrigation & other agricultural methods in this area. In politics and social service so many people rendererd good service to the society some of them are Mahesh Halu Malligemane,Athmiya malligemane, Dinesh hosur, Ramappa Naik sankainakodige, Santosh.h.p, Suresh hosur, Lingappa naik, Bisheja, divakara butt, revathi bhut, Prashanth h k.
