Bierutów

Bierutów ((ドイツ語:Bernstadt an der Weide)) is a town in Oleśnica County, Lower Silesian Voivodeship, in south-western Poland. It is the seat of the administrative district (gmina) called Gmina Bierutów. The town lies approximately south-east of Oleśnica, and east of the regional capital Wrocław.
Prior to 1945 it was in Germany. After World War II the region was placed under Polish administration and ethnically cleansed according to the post-war Potsdam Agreement. The native German populace was expelled and replaced with Poles. (For more information on the history of the region, see Silesia.)
As at 2006, the town has a population of 5,066. Its castle is believed to date to the 13th century, and was the headquarters of the local forestry body after World War II.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Bierutów – a castle and a castle tower, 3b Zamkowa street )
