Bircza

Bircza ((ウクライナ語:Бірча)) is a village in Przemyśl County, Subcarpathian Voivodeship, in south-eastern Poland. It is the seat of the gmina (administrative district) called Gmina Bircza. It lies approximately south-west of Przemyśl and south-east of the regional capital Rzeszów.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Central Statistical Office (GUS) - TERYT (National Register of Territorial Land Apportionment Journal) )〕 The village has a population of 1,000.
In Bircza was born Orthodox metropolitan Yov Boretsky and Jan Komski.
Before World War II, the Bircza area was home to a large Jewish community. Nearly all of them were murdered during the ensuing Holocaust.
