They are mainly originated from Majhauli estate near Devariya district in UP. Bisen are also present in Bihar. In UP they also have presence in other district like Banda, Allahabad, Pratapgarh Gorakhpur and ballia(mainly in jameen kasaili kasesar)., In Bihar, their presence in in the district of purnea (Bhauwa Deorhi). They are a brave, generous, land-owning (zamindar) clan. Raja Prithvi Mull of Majhauli was the ancestor of the Bisen dynasty.
