Bolarum

Bolarum is one of the major suburbs of Hyderabad, India. Geographically, a part of Bolarum is in Hyderabad district while another is in Ranga Reddy District. It comes under Secunderabad Cantonment Board.The encompassing area was mostly planned by the British during the time of the Nizams. In the past, more than half of the area used to be agricultural, but the farms have been transformed into residential and commercial areas. Bolarum has a railway station, and runs local (Suburban) and passenger trains.
Many important buildings of Indian historical relevance are located in Bolaram, one of which is an Officer's Mess located diagonally opposite to the church and Ayyappa Temple, opposite to St. Ann's Provincilate. Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the first Defence Minister of India, negotiated the terms of surrender with the Nizam, when he came to Hyderabad as commander of the Indian army to annex Hyderabad state.
The Holy Trinity Church, Bolarum, a European-style church, had its construction funded by Queen Victoria in 1847. For this reason, Elizabeth II visited Bolarum to attended a service in this church on her Wedding Anniversary during her visit to India in the 1980s.〔(QE II visit )〕
==Demographics==

India census, Bolarum had a population of 13,305. Males constitute 58% of the population and females 42%. Bolarum has an average literacy rate of 58%, lower than the national average of 59.5%; with male literacy of 68% and female literacy of 43%. 15% of the population is under 6 years of age.
The majority of the population is Hindu. But one can find people of many religions living in harmony., including Jain, and also there are couple of mosques, and a Gurdwara. Most of the population are employees and work in Railways, Industries, defence, offices, etc.
