Braxy Braxy is an inflammatory disease in the abomasal lining of sheep caused by the bacterium ''Clostridium septicum'' (aka ''Bacillus septicus''), followed by rapid death. Braxy is often brought on by a change from succulent food to dry (or icy) food. It is usually seen in young sheep, in particular those not protected with a ''Clostridial vaccine''. The mutton affected with this disease can also be referred to as ''braxy''. == References ==
