Broomicephalus : ウィキペディア英語版 | Broomicephalus
''Broomicephalus'' ("Broom's head", after paleontologist Robert Broom) is an extinct genus of rubigeine gorgonopsid from South Africa. It was relatively small, 1.1 m long with a 21 cm skull. Its skull was short and wide compared to other gorgonopsids, and its canines were laterally compressed. Its skull morphology indicates that it was preying on large animals, not unlike the much later saber-toothed cats such as Homotherium. It has been suggested that Broomicephalus is synonymous with Clelandina.〔(EVOLUTIONARY PATTERNS IN THE HISTORY OF PERMO-TRIASSIC AND CENOZOIC SYNAPSID PREDATORS )〕〔(By Group > Gorgonopsia > ''Broomicephalus laticeps'' ) ''Palaeocritti - a guide to prehistoric animals'' (viitattu 5. 11. 2013)〕〔(Genus: ''Broomicephalus'' BRINK & KITCHING, 1953 ) ''Paleofile.com''〕 ==See also==
