Bunchrew
Bunchrew (Scottish Gaelic: ''Bun Chraoibh'') is a small village close to the south shore of Beauly Firth in the Highland council area of Scotland. It is 5 km west of the city of Inverness, on the A862 road. The name is from Bun Chraoibh, Gaelic for "foot of the tree". It has a caravan and camping site〔(Bunchrew Caravan Park ).〕 and Bunchrew House — a historic mansion that is now a hotel — is on the shore of the firth nearby.〔(Bunchrew House Hotel )〕 Bunchrew had a station on the Inverness and Ross-shire Railway, which opened in 1862. This station closed to passengers in 1960, and to goods in 1964. ==References== 〔
