The Cable and Satellite Broadcasting Association of Asia (CASBAA) is the association for multichannel TV in Asia. Established in 1991, CASBAA has grown with the industry to include digital multichannel television, content, platforms, advertising and video delivery. Covering Asia and encompassing over 470 million connections within a footprint across the region, CASBAA works to be the authoritative voice for multichannel TV promoting even handed and market friendly regulation, IP protection and revenue growth for subscriptions and advertising. CASBAA’s 130 member organisations include leading cable, satellite, DTH and broadband operators as well as multinational networks and programmers in Asia and worldwide. Member corporations also comprise leading suppliers and manufacturers of broadcast technology, related business service providers, communications, advertising & marketing agencies, media, government regulatory bodies, telecom companies, new media service providers and network enablers. ==Mission== The mission of CASBAA is to promote the growth of pay TV and video content through industry information, networking exchanges and events while promoting global best practices. The Association is also dedicated to the development of regulatory best practices which assist the interests of both domestic and international participants within the multichannel and communication communities. CASBAA undertakes a number of initiatives including the pursuit of copyright enforcement, promotion of multichannel TV as a key advertising medium, the promotion of regional technical standards, regulatory roundtables and educational seminars of the business environment for traditional, electronic media, and telecom companies.
