CHUP-FM is a Canadian radio station broadcasting at 97.7 FM in Calgary, Alberta. The station airs an adult contemporary format and is owned by Rawlco Radio. CHUP's studios are located on Railway Street Southeast in Calgary, while its transmitter is located at 85 Street Southwest and Old Banff Coach Road in western Calgary. As of the Fall 2014 Numeris Radio PPM Data, CHUP was the #15 radio station in Calgary.〔(Fall 2014 Calgary Numeris Ratings )〕 == History == The 97.5 FM frequency, adjacent to the new 97.7 FM, was originally occupied by CIRI-FM. CIRI, a traffic advisory station owned by the city of Calgary, moved to 106.5 FM in early 2008 after CIGY was licensed on the adjacent frequency. After its approval in 2007,〔(Broadcasting Decision CRTC 2007-289 )〕 the station began testing on February 19, 2008 as CIGY-FM. The station officially launched on March 6, 2008 at 10:00am MST. The first song played was ''Who Says You Can't Go Home'' by Jon Bon Jovi and Jennifer Nettles. Originally an adult contemporary station as 97-7 Calgary FM, the station changed brandings to the New 97-7 FM name as of September 2008. As well, the format was changed from adult contemporary to hot adult contemporary, while avoiding rhythmic content (competitor CKCE-FM plays more rhythmic content than CIGY). In addition, 2008 marked the first time Calgary has had two hot adult contemporary radio stations. Then, in 2009, CIGY-FM became 97-7 Mix FM. The station has leaned country since its inception. In April 2010, CIGY dropped the country lean in favour of a more adult album alternative lean, thus describing the station as a modern adult contemporary. On May 20, 2011, Mix 97-7 changed formats to adult hits, their branding to "up! 97.7", and their callsign to CHUP-FM. The modern AC format was moved to CFIT-FM. On September 4, 2015, CHUP shifted to adult contemporary, branded as "Soft Rock 97.7."〔https://radioinsight.com/blog/headlines/94445/up-97-7-goes-down-in-calgary/〕 抄文引用元・出典: フリー百科事典『 ウィキペディア(Wikipedia)』 ■ウィキペディアで「CHUP-FM」の詳細全文を読む スポンサード リンク
