Licensed to Smiths Falls, Ontario, the station serves the larger metropolitan Ottawa market broadcasting at 92.3 FM, with an Adult hits format branded as 92.3 JACK FM. CJET has studios located in Smiths Falls (as part of its license agreement), with auxiliary studios located with the Rogers Ottawa cluster at Thurston Drive and Conroy Road in Ottawa, while its transmitter is located near Carleton Place. ==History== The station was launched in 1955 by Rideau Broadcasting, at 1070 AM, and played a country music format. In 1958, the station's frequency changed to 630. In 1969, CJET-FM was also launched as a stereo simulcast of the AM signal. That station now uses the callsign CKBY. In 1984, the AM and FM stations were sold to Harvey Glatt's CHEZ-FM Inc., which was subsequently acquired by Rogers Communications, the stations' current owner, in 1999. Rogers converted CJET to FM the following year,〔(Decision CRTC 2000-81 )〕 and the station adopted the Jack FM branding in 2004. In September 2015, the station changed its format to adult hits but kept the JACK-FM branding.
