Casavatore is a ''comune'' (municipality) in the Metropolitan City of Naples in the Italian region Campania, located about 8 km north of Naples. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 19,608 and an area of 1.62 km².〔All demographics and other statistics: Italian statistical institute Istat.〕 At the census of 2001 it had a population of 20,087 and a population density of 12,339 inhabitants/km², making it the second most densely populated ''comune'' in Italy (after Portici).
