Castúo is the generic name for the dialects of Spanish spoken in the autonomous community of Extremadura, in Spain. It must not be confused with Extremaduran language, a variety from Astur-leonese roots, or Fala language, from Galician-Portuguese roots. ==Phonological characteristics== * Debuccalization (reduction to ) of (:s) and (:θ) in syllable-final position. This feature is common with all Spanish varieties in the southern half of Spain. * Frequent loss of ''d'', in any position.
