''Caulimoviridae'' is a family of viruses. Plants and insects serve as natural hosts. There are currently 53 species in this family, divided among 8 genera.〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://viralzone.expasy.org/all_by_species/96.html )〕〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Virus Taxonomy: 2014 Release )〕 Viruses belonging to the ''Caulimoviridae'' family are termed DNA reverse-transcribing viruses (or pararetroviruses) i.e. viruses that contain a reverse transcription stage in their replication cycle. This family contains all plant viruses that consist of a double-stranded DNA genome that has a reverse transcribing phase in its lifecycle. ==Taxonomy== Group: ssRNA-RT }}〔 The Rose yellow vein virus has an unusual genome organisation that appears to be unique in this family.〔Mollov D, Lockhart B, Zlesak DC, Olszewski N (2012) Complete nucleotide sequence of rose yellow vein virus, a member of the family Caulimoviridae having a novel genome organization.
