Cavriago is a ''comune'' (municipality) in the Province of Reggio Emilia in the Italian region Emilia-Romagna, located about northwest of Bologna and about west of Reggio Emilia. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 9,229 and an area of .〔All demographics and other statistics: Italian statistical institute Istat.〕 The municipality of Cavriago contains the ''frazioni'' (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Case Nuove, Corte Tegge, and Quercioli. Cavriago borders the following municipalities: Bibbiano, Reggio Emilia. Cavriago is one of the very few places in Western Europe where a monument to Vladimir Lenin stands.
