CelebrityNetWorth is a website that reports the total assets and financial status of celebrities. The company was co-founded by CEO Brian Warner in 2008. CelebrityNetWorth was featured on Comedy Central show Tosh.0 in September 2010. Daniel Tosh’s mention led to a temporary crash of the site due to an influx of users.
CelebrityNetWorth creates lists ranking rich individuals based upon their worth. In 2012, the company compiled a list of the 25 richest people in history, adjusted for inflation, naming King Mansa Musa of the Mali Empire at the top of the list. That same year, it created a list of the world’s richest DJs, and a survey which named Ringo Starr as the world’s richest drummer.
The site has recorded the networth of celebrities including Ben Affleck, Phil Robertson, Emma Watson, Tom Perkins, Marissa Mayer, Justin Bieber, A-Rod, Miley Cyrus, Mick Jagger and Tom Brady.〔("Tom Brady suspended four games, Patriots lose draft picks for Deflategate" ).
