Celloman

Ivan Hussey's musical career began when he joined the Reggae Philharmonic Orchestra at the age of 17. Over the course of four years, Ivan appeared on two of their recorded albums and took part in tours of Japan, Jamaica and Europe.〔(Review of Aquador album on cello.org )〕 He then became a session musician, playing cello for recordings by Take That, The Spice Girls, Soul II Soul and Mick Jagger amongst others,〔(Celloman's official website )〕 and also toured with Duran Duran and Gabrielle in 1993 and 1994, respectively〔 More recently, he has worked with Bebel Gilberto, Leona Lewis, Keane, Annie Lennox, Gallows, Incognito and currently tours with Natacha Atlas.〔http://www.allaboutjazz.com/php/article.php?id=39680〕 and Mor Karbasi〔http://www.brosella.be/eng/brosella-folk-jazz/program/mor-karbasi〕 respectively. Celloman began in 2001 with the release of ''Aquador'' on Ivan Hussey's own independent record label Jambila Music (formerly SPI). They have since gone on to release a further three albums plus two solo albums under the name ''Ivan Hussey''. Celloman have played numerous gigs around the UK and Europe, including four appearances at Glastonbury Festival, Exit Festival, Womad,〔http://womad.org/artists/celloman/〕 Sauti za Busara〔http://www.busaramusic.org/database/artists.php?whereartistlike=Celloman&whereSzByearlike=%〕 and Glade Festival. Since the release of the acoustic album: ''Moods, Broods & Interludes'', Celloman also perform as The Celloman String Trio, playing Hussey's compositions for string trio.
