Charthana is a major village in Jintur taluka of Parbhani district in Maharashtra state of India. Charthana is formerly known as CHARUKSHETRA NAGARI in a name of the CHARUDATTA RAJA. There are near about 360 temples of Mahadeva, some of them are under the ground. The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) has acquired the remaining temples for conservation. There are several things which are magnificent like Gokuleshwar mandir, Barav, Dwipmal, Nartirtha etc. It is well known for Sant Janardhan Maharaj temple also. But nowadays peoples are gets divided into POLITICS, CASTISM & Personal issues. Though it is well known TOURIST SPOT the roads and tourist spots are damaged a lot. For this not only Politicians but Peoples are also responsible. But beyond that if we want to see ancient glory we should have to visit charthana at least ones in a Lifetime. ==Demography== Charthana is a village with total 1630 families residing. The Charthana village has population of 7795 of which 3956 are males while 3839 are females as per Population Census 2011.〔 Average Sex Ratio of Charthana village is 970 which is higher than Maharashtra state average of 929.〔 Charthana village has lower literacy rate compared to Maharashtra. In 2011, literacy rate of Charthana village was 75.45% compared to 82.34% of Maharashtra.
