Chinnamuttom ((タミル語:சின்னமுட்டம்); ) is an special grade village in Kanyakumari District in the state of Tamil Nadu in India. The name comes from Tamil word Muttu ((タミル語:முட்டு)); (முட்டு = Edge). Chinnamuttom is the southernmost point of Indian Subcontinent. The nearest town is Kanyakumari - An Special Grade Township and a International Tourist Spot away. Nagercoil, the administrative headquarters of Kanyakumari District, away. ==Modern Histroy== Chinnamuttom was formed during late 80's. The native people were there for long years. Usually during the months of November - December people from nearby villages like (Kanyakumari, Kovalam, Manakudi, Kuttapuli, Oovari, etc.) come here for fishing due to bad weather in their area's. Chinnamuttom is surrounded by sea on three sides and it is the best place for fishing of fish like Prawns and Crabs. Later days goes by the peole from nearby village settled there One-By-One.
