He studied at the University of Northern Iowa, where he majored in English education, eventually graduating with an English degree. For a short time, he was a 7th grade English teacher at Coke R. Stevenson Middle School in San Antonio, Texas. Ever since Pirillo was introduced to technology as a child he has been fascinated with the evolution and different aspects of computing.
