Chōkyō

was a Japanese era name (年号, ''nengō'', lit. year name) after ''Bunmei'' and before ''Entoku''. This period spanned the years from July 1487 through August 1489.〔Nussbaum, Louis-Frédéric. (2005). "''Chōkyō''" in ( ''Japan encyclopedia'', p. 121; ) n.b., Louis-Frédéric is pseudonym of Louis-Frédéric Nussbaum, ''see'' (Deutsche Nationalbibliothek Authority File ).〕 The reigning emperor was Go-Tsuchimikado''-tennō'' (後土御門天皇).〔Titsingh, Isaac.
